I don’t understand the difference between an outdoor and indoor bike. Why is the Exercise Shhortcut only for outdoor bikes?

Outdoor biking uses GPS for distance. You can change the exercise shortcuts. From the app I went to the Versa picture, tap it and go to "exercise shortcuts". That is where I searched for spinning and added it. If you already have 7 exercise shortcuts you will have to delete one then press the “plus sign” at the top and spinning is a choice, as well as many others.

Sorry- that is not an accepted solution. My question is what is the difference between outdoor and indoor biking. Nothing about GPS. Why can’t the Exercise Shortcut be used for indoor biking?

On your phone, open the Fitbit App. Click on the square in the upper right corner. Click on your Versa. Scroll down to Exercise Shortcuts. Click Edit in the top right corner. Click red minus sign of what you want to delete. Click + Exercise Shortcut to see a list of exercises you can add. You can only have 7 so you have to subtract before you can add. If you want to re-arrange the order of the exercises, click edit again and click on the three bars on the right of an exercise and pull the exercises into the order you want.

Thank you. On my Android phone steps are just a little different. I have no Edit link on the right top. Need to swipe to the left exercise wanted to remove and then + link showing up on the right top corner to add desired exercise.

I use 'spinning' for the indoor bike as it will work properly with no GPS connection (GPS didn't work inside the gym)
if you just choose the 'bike' exercise then it won't record the activity at all unless you have a GPS connection
hope that answers your question about the difference between the two

YES!!!!! My old lady recumbent bike is SPINNING...the few arm and leg machines I use are WEIGHTS...my Versa makes me look so cool! I love it!!!

EDIT - it is not WEIGHTS, it is WORKOUT but that still sounds cool!

Now I have decided that I do not like the Spinning Exercise Shortcut for the recumbent bike. I don’t want to get steps for biking and I want correct mileage (the Spinniing Exercise Shortcut gave me .12 miles while the recumbent bike said I went 6.7 miles). So, I am back to logging it myself as Bike.
