When I press Exercise the watch returns to Home screen. Tried restarting already.

The same here! Since the last update the exercise function stopped working. So frustrating.

I contacted support today and they had me restart my watch .. that seems to have fixed the problem for now . I had to hold the side button for 10 seconds and it restarted everything . The Fitbit logo should come up when you do this

I talked to the support yesterday. The support guided me to restart the watch, but then it stopped working totally. 
I'm now waiting for a replacement as it was on warranty.
