Exiting Sleep causes Android App to Hang

Hello,

I've had my Fitbit Versa 2 for about a week now. When I go to bed, I'm manually using the Fitbit app on my Android phone to start my sleep cycle. When I wake up in the morning, the charged phone displays the sleep duration correctly. I then hit the "I'm awake" button, and the app then indicates it's processing my sleep with a spinning wheel. However, the app actually hangs at this point. I've given it ample time to process the data, up to 10 minutes! But, the app no longer responds, and just continues showing a spinning wheel.

My solution is to force-quit the app. When I re-launch the app, a message appears stating it was unable to sync the sleep cycle (I forget if it was with the app or the Fitbit cloud.) Regardless, the sleep cycle is correctly processed and stored, both in the app and online. So, it actually is able to sync properly. But, having to restart the app every morning does not seem correct.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Phone: Samsung S7 Edge running Android 8.0.0

Versa 2 firmware version 35.70.714

Fitbit app version 3.12.1

Thanks,

Dave

Accepted Solutions

It is not recommended to use 'Begin Sleep Now' and 'I'm Awake' for trackers that have heart rate monitoring.  Just let Fitbit figure out your sleep time by itself.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
