Fat Burn Zone

Hey!

So I'm currently embarking on a ketogenic diet, and because of this my heart rate has been slightly elevated for long periods in the day (I don't notice it, but my Fitbit Versa is tracking up to 3 hours of fat burn every day... And all I'm doing is sitting down or walking to the stores!).

Because of this, my Fitbit is telling me that I'm burning over 2300 calories a day. And there is NO way I'm consuming that much each day. But my weight isn't dropping.

Perhaps the heart rate monitor isn't accurate? Or the Fitbit is assuming that I'm doing exercise because my heart rate is in the 'zone'? I do go to the gym, and do other activities, so it's not like the Fitbit doesn't track my activity well.

It sounds as if you might need to change the heart rate zones so that your elevated heart rate is not putting you into fat burn so much. See below for how to do it. I dont know much about itnas i have never tried to alter the zones so hopefully the following information is helpful.

CUSTOM ZONE

Instead of using the 3 default zones you can create a custom zone if you're targeting a specific heart rate. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image) and find Heart Rate Zones. Then enter your custom zone.

On fitbit.com, log into your dashboard and click the gear icon in the upper right. Choose Settings > Personal Info. There you can enter your custom zone.
