Firmware Update Failed Versa | Your Fitbit Phone Inquiry-Setup/Firmware Update Failed-Versa - #43821

I recently made contact with the support telephone line only to be emailed saying that my Versa is out of warranty and basically cannot be replaced.

Well obviously it doesn't fall under the warranty anymore, I could've told the agent that as I have had my watch for more than 2 years.
I have swam with it numerous times but this time around it decided to stop working. I know that it's not waterproof, but water resistant up to 50M, and aware of the parameters around using it in water.

I have read quite a few comments on the help page with customers that have experienced the same issue with their Versa and all you guys have done is send generic posts on how to troubleshoot. Surely a fitness watch should last more than 2 years and shouldn't provide issues thereafter.

I was your biggest fan but sadly you are going to have to redeem yourselves here.

Please advise of the next steps or actions from your end.

Hi @Lynn_Curtis  we're the community forums comprised of Fitbit users. You got with customer support and they are the ones that make decisions as to replacements. When people say they had water get into the device, they generally put them in a dry bowl of rice before charging them, in order to avoid frying the battery. Have you tried doing that?

Hi there!

I have had it in a bowl of rice for almost 3 days now. It switches on but keeps saying I need to download the app. I went through all the troubleshooting advice on my own and again with an agent.

Please advise of the next steps to escalate this matter

Have you tried setting it up as a new device on an existing account? If you're working with support, you've already got the best possible help. We're the community forums where users of the Fitbit devices post and help others.
