Firmware update Versa 3

I just got a message in the FitbitApp that there is a firmware update for my Versa 3. Could one of the moderators confirm that it is safe to install?  (I have read so many horror stories about updates in the community).

Hi, @Podenco  - if everything is working it is probably best to not install it unless it is a brand new watch.

I didn't install mine and don't have problems that others have experienced and also run with an old version of the Fitbit App so am getting notifications whereas others aren't with the latest version.

Thanks for letting me know. It really is a shame that the quality of fitbit products, hardware and software,  has sunken to this level.

Definitely don't do it.  I did before I found out there was an issue and my versa has refused to synch with the app ever since.

I have a quite different experience. My Versa 3 is rock solid since the day one and I always keep app and smartwatch up to date for new features. So I will install this update right away too!

Edit: Just install it and everything is fine on my end.

Problem is that Versa 3 / Sense are plagued by huge issues but it's unlikely this update is going to fix them as they appear to be hardware related.

Hi--Don't do it. I had a firmware update on mine Saturday (the 30th) morning and my Caloric Expenditure has been way off ever since.

We need to get this rectified.

Is anywhere a list of things that they change? My versa3 is terrible with exercise tracking and if they didn't improve that option, I'm not interested in updating, cause everything else works fine

I updated and all my measurements are now wrecked. I have split display graphics when opening apps as well. Firmware update was a bust and they removed the ability to contact support since the update rolled out. Really disappointed.

Mine has completely died.. the app is registering but screen is black. Im devastated 💔 I've had my fitbit 4.5 years 😢

I got the update and then 3 days later my watch died because the battery life crapped itself and now my watch won't charge so I can't turn it on to sync my data or anything. The charger works just fine on my mom's Sense, but I can't get squat.

Just rubbish isn't it. Wonder if the next update will fix it. Gone back to my old Blaze which is working fine 🤷‍:female_sign:
