Firmware will NOT UPDATE - tried everything!

I am beyond frustrated with my new Versa 2. 

I originally ordered it over 6 weeks ago.  When I got it I was prompted to update the new firmware.

I tried many times and it didn't work. I should note that it would also not charge past 60%.

I contacted Fitbit 6ish times and was walked through everything I've read on these forums for trouble shooting (uninstall, update fitbit app, update iOS, factory reset, etc).  They also sent me a new charger in case the charger wasn't working (that wasn't the case). The fitbit still didn't charge past 60% and the update kept failing (it would get to 5% and would not go past 5%).

Finally they had me return the Fitbit and sent me a new one, and we are in the same boat once again.  I don't know what else to try but I've been dealing with this for over 6 weeks and still have not been able to use my Fitbit!!! Any other suggestions please??

Without going into everything unrelated to your problem without men ruining the issue @Mrozinski could we get some info on what is or is not happening? 

Does your Versa 2 still have the setup message? 

Does the firmware install start? 

Do you then move your Fitbit app to the background? Failure to do this might cause the update to stop when the phones screen turns off.

When I hit the button to start the download process, it will say downloading 5%, and won't get past 5%.  Then it will say it failed, a Red X will pop up on my fitbit, and it will ask me if I want to retry it so I do.  The same thing happens again, then it asks if I want to try over bluetooth, and so I try it that way, and the same thing happens.

My background app refresh is on.
