I have a Fitbit Versa, it is updated to the latest OS - 33.1.30. I have it synched to my iPhone 6s running iOS 12.1.2. Since I got my versa, I have never ever been got notifications on the watch when I received a Text message or an iMessage. I was having issues for a bit with WhatsApp but, it and all other app notifications that I want turned on (Ring, my alarm system etc) I received. Also, incoming call notifications I receive no problem.
On the app I have turned on notifications for "Text Messages" - same as for "Calls". When I had issues with WhatsApp, I would turn off notifications for the app and then sync and then come back in and turn it back on and sync again.
Like I said, I have never received a Text/iMessage notification since I got the Versa. It's really annoying and am considering sending it back at this point as it's one of the more important notifications I want to be able to receive.

Did you make sure to turn on notifications on the Fitbit Versa Watch? It’s under settings.

Yes, Notifications are "On" on the watch itself

I’m having the exact same issue. I have an iPhone 7. I get notifications from FitBit no problem but no iMessages/texts.

@JuanJoFitbit - Hi. I am hoping you can help me here because am about to see about returning my Versa. I have read through another thread in which you attempted to help another person having a similar issue (link below). Have followed all the provided steps to try resolve but, no luck.

Also, - pretty sure it's unrelated but, one other thing that I am finding is that when I turn my hand to check the time, the face does not come on automatically, even if I try turn my hand quite hard or jerk it around. I have to tap the screen just to read the time. Have looked around in the settings to see if it is something to adjust but can't find anything.

Just as a FYI, this seems to be a phone/app issue rather than the actual watch issue. Set up the Versa with someone else's iPhone 7 and the text notifications came across right away. So going to keep trying to mess around to see if I can get these text notifications to come across.

Same with my iPhone xs, getting notifications but not text or call

I paired up my Charge 2 (what I was upgrading to with the Versa) with my phone and even with it - I get calls but, not text/imessage notifications. So it's definitely something buggy with my phone settings and the FitBit app or something that is not sending the text notifications over to the watches.

That sucks, I am at least getting calls. Since when I paired with the watch with a different phone, text messages came to the watch - it's not a watch issue. It also doesn't seem like this is a phone model issue because the Jenegy reported having issue with iPhone 7 and you are reporting it with a XS issue.
At this point, think the issue lies in whenever fitbit app syncs ithe settings to the phone, however it API it is using to tell the phone to send Text notifications is probably not making it to the phone or the phone is not saving that setting on it's end. Especially since same thing is happening with my Charge2 where the Charge gets calls but, same issue with text notifications.
Not going to send the watch back anymore since I do like it and it's not the watch but, hopefully someone from FitBit can reach out to help figure this out because have tried all the different suggestions made in the other thread asking about same issue that some of the FitBit Community board people responded with suggestions but, to no avail. Don't want to have buy a new phone just to resolve this.

Where are you fitbit people?

Well I just got a new iPhoneXS and text messages are not coming across to my watch.
Phone was restored from my 6s backup. Since I do get text message notifications on the watch when I pair it with my wife's iPhone7, I am guessing at this point there is some setting somewhere that has carried over which is preventing notifications to the watch for some reason.
Hopefully someone at fitbit will read this and try and help.

Got text messages coming now. But, had to do a complete factory reset of my phone for it to work. As I mentioned, this was a brand new phone that I had restored from my previous phone's backup and whatever setting that was preventing text messages from being sent to the watches was carried over.
I checked pretty much everything I could for messages/text messages and nothing. So I guess resetting phone to factory settings is the only way.

I have a Versa, paired to iPhone 6s Plus. Checked all software updates and all other points I could. Synced Versa on Fitbit then I followed directions to reset factory setting and checked all notifications where on. Still no text messages come through. Phone now does though. Also I have auto-sync that was not auto syncing and my sleep is not tracking. So frustrating

I had to factory reset my phone to factory (delete all settings and content) for it to finally work. None of the other instructions for resetting Versa, removing app, turning sync on and off, resyncing, turning on notifications on and off and syncing - nothing. Tried so many different things.
Only realized that the issue is with something stored in the phone's settings which carried over when I setup my new phone by using the backup of the old phone and problem persisted. Once this happened, I searched around the web for people having issues with other phone to device notifications. What I found on a couple sites for is that seems like some sort iOS update triggered this - people who no longer got their text messages in their cars with services like Sync etc solved it by doing a complete phone reset.
Problem is now have to manually setup my phone, get all my apps downloaded etc.

So.... I may have found out the issue without the factory reset. I ran through the same solutions everyone else had, but I didn’t want to reset my phone. I just went to my phone notifications and turned them off for messages, synced the Fitbit, turned them back on, re-synced and restarted my phone.... and now I get messages!
Hope that that helps someone else as well!

It worked perfectly!!
Now I did make sure all the updates on both the fone and the fitbit were up to date first.
Then I did exactly what you said and its awesome!

Hello,
I just received my Versa 2 on Saturday and have tried over and over again to sync my text messages. Nothing worked. I followed your instructions using my iphone X and FINALLY it worked. I was ready to send this watch back to Amazon. Thank you for posting your instructions. Let's hope it sticks.
