Twice over the past two weeks the Fitbit app has recorded ridiculous stats for walking and total calories in the morning. My Versa is showing accurate stats when I wake up, but when I check the app, it's showing >45,000 steps and more than 4,000 calories burned. There is no activity related to these stats - they just appear. Has anyone else seen this?

I've not encountered this, but I recall seeing a few posts on here about similar problems. Search for "too many steps" hopefully you'll find something useful.
I think I would first shut down and restart the watch, it might take 30 seconds after shutdown before you can wake it back up with the left side button, that's how mine works anyway.
After that try a factory reset. Otherwise it looks like it might be faulty, talk to Fitbit support or return it as faulty.

Had very similar problems 1 day I did 916 minutes of exercise. Not active minutes as suggested in reply from fitbit. Later in week on day total it dropped to 428.gid knows how. It also regularly drops days of exercise stats back to 1 week only
