Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

This update took very long to install, it took around 5 hours with 2 interrupts in the middle. Losing wifi/BT connection despitre my Versa and tablet being side by side with each others.
After completing the install, I like the bigger fonts used. Easier to see, especially in the setting options.
However for those who are ghetting sync problem, do not expect to have good sync. It is still the same if not worst. I just try my phone first, if sync failed, I will try my tablet. If failed, then I use my Windows PC. If still fail, then I will try rebooting all. If still fail I will uninstall Fitbit at each device, try sync. Still fail then reset Versa etc etc. Still not consistent, random - sometime it sync, sometime not.

I am having the very same issue, I have tried restarting watch, uninstalled and reinstalled app, unpaired and paired Bluetooth, nothing is working for me.
**After uninstalling the app and reinstalling a second time and going into the apps the today app is finally updating. This was a bit of a painful update for me.
That being said it works now and I do like the updates.

I unpaired my versa from my fitbit app because randomly my move alert wasn't working. I usually get a buzz on my versa to get up and move. Wasn't working and unpairing didn't fix it. Did a factory reset on the device and then the update button for 3.0 appears. I dont know if it was just coincidence or the reset triggered the update.

@KTPr Please check a few pages earlier in this thread. There are troubleshooting steps posted. Try checking if there's update for Today app in your Fitbit mobile app. If yes, then great, update. If not plug your tracker for a couple of hours in the charger. It should update the Today app eventually by itself (usually within a few hours).

I’m sorry but if this firmware update doesn’t include a longer and stronger silent alarm option, I don’t want it!!!!!!

No I didn't see an old update. The red banner said 3.0. Nothing happened when I pressed it except that it disappeared and now it's no longer there??

My 2c.
I got the update yesterday and it took aprrox 25 minutes to install over Wifi. It's a nice update. You no longer need to review averages etc from your phone, you can do it all from the today screen. But the best improvement is that notifications wake the watch and display to the screen without a button press.
Good job fitbit.

Had to hard reset my device due to being stuck on the white logo screen. Fitbit app states it's downloading 3.0 update but when device resets it's version 32.12.19. reset the device again under settings and same issue. Downloads and installs but doesn't reflect the newest software version

@Frankie915 version .19 is 2.2. Fitbit OS. You will not be able to force upgrade to 3.0 by hard reset (factory reset). You need to wait until it's rolled out to you by Fitbit. Once available, the download option will appear in your Fitbit mobile app.

Hi, this is a well known , very inconvenient, problem. Fitbit is working on a fix for that, just be patient.

Hi all! Great to see that so many of you were able to get updated without too much hassle!
@Frankie915 @oma7144 @Kristof @HomersGone @sviperz @Rowethren @Frankie915 @DeclanF @UNDER20CARBS @HeatherHwi @sviperz As a reminder, this is a staged rollout, so not all users have been prompted to update to OS 3.0. We will be sure to keep you in the loop as more information becomes available.
Please note: a factory reset will not push this firmware to your device.
@HeatherMae @Jmvest86 @AngelaGB @HeatherMaye @Sbranham @SunsetRunner If anyone isn't seeing the Today app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

This has happened to me too! I chatted with customer service who assured me it wasn't because of the update but it sure as skippy was swiping up just fine before! I've done every reset and cleared apps and changed watch faces to no avail!

Hi, it's a known issue whatever they say. Maybe the solution posted by MattFitbit will do the trick.
I hope you mean Versa, instead on Ionic.
