Fitbit Update 1/10/19:

Hi all!

Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!

Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.

If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.

Thanks again and happy stepping! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 12/26:

Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.

We look forward to getting you all back on track!

Fitbit Update 12/22:

We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.

We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hi, everyone!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)

We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT'S CHANGED?

Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart the watch.
  2. "Remove" the watch from your account inside of the Fitbit app.
  3. "Forget" the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings (along with any other Fitbit devices paired to your phone)
  4. Try the update again.

*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)

2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

So...... is this normal. To get a firmware update you must factory reset or uninstall the app. Cause I noticed issues with my versa not tracking sleep. Not tracking steps correctly. Its now just a watch. So I look into it. Do some searching. Find out my firmware is Firmware version: 32.32.10.15 and you are releasing 32.33.1.30.  Then find out I have to basically wipe everything just to get this thing, to maybe work again. Never had these issues with my previous three fitbits.
Looking into this further and this seems to be the fix everytime for all issues. reset watch, remove device from app, remove device from bluetooth, wipe app and reinstall. Then spend the next hour or so watching it update. Only to have more functions break shortly there after. When are you going to honestly fix this watch. Not smart device cause it is basically just a watch with way to much upkeep at this point.

@Jaizzert

I noticed that too. I thought it was only me. It's just a minor bug though.

Battery life seems a bit better, but I received the update only yesterday, so can't tell for sure just yet.

hello,

How can I see additional stats (sleep, log water intake and weight, with expanded exercise stats) with the new firmware ?

It's written "you can select until 7 stats" but I see only 3 (steps, heart rate and hourly activity) as before the update.

I am in France.

Thanks

@popo     : this has been covered several times in this thread -- patience! They will appear automatically after a day

@blue3c

>> "To get a firmware update you must factory reset or uninstall the app." --- no. Normally you should never have to force a factory reset in the first place, allthough there are few circumstances that it is the last thing that can get things back to track. OS3.0 will not install via factory reset, but OS2.x will. (firmware version 32.10.19/.24).

>> "Find out my firmware is Firmware version: 32.32.10.15 and you are releasing 32.33.1.30.  Then find out I have to basically wipe everything just to get this thing, to maybe work again." --- The firmware versions were .15, .19, .24, .30 (no in-betweens). .24 replaced .19 and if you really really insist you can force an install via factory reset. .30 will be pushed to the remaining 50% of user in probably not too distant future, for now you cannot get it in any other way that wait and be patient.

>> "Only to have more functions break shortly there after. When are you going to honestly fix this watch" --- some people have a lot of problems, most people have no problems whatsoever. So go figure...  It is rare that you should have to wipe the app, fiddle massively with bluetooth etc. (although there some cicumstances that it may help).
You mention issues with tracking sleep and tracking steps ... that has nothing to do with your bluetooth connection or your mobile app. For tracking sleep, I presume you get the default sleep pattern but not the sleep stages? It means the versa has difficulty in detecting your sleep, which may sometimes be causes by having the sensitivity set to high. Check if it is, and set it to normal (on fitbit.com settings). Also take a peek at your night-time HR pattern (in the mobile app under HR), and see if it looks 'normal'. If sensitivity is normal and HR is normal and you still only get basic sleep pattern, then there are several threads that discuss specifically that.  For tracking steps, you did not mention what exactly is not correct? It is very normal to get erroneous steps from household work etc. Not 1000's, but 100's. It is not normal to gets steps when charging, when dead asleep etc. Make sure that you have selected the correct arm (dominant or not), so the sensitivity is adjusted. You can check for other threads if these cover your issue, or open a new thread, specifically on step tracking.
Hope this helps, good luck, Versa is a great tracker/watch! 🙂

@AlessFitbit

This happened to me today on the today tile And I can’t move it back, I have tried restarting the Versa but still happens.

Also so removed from the list of the today tile and replaced again still jumps to the top.

@restlessdan  Are you using a standard Fitbit clockface?? If not, the first thing to do is to install a Fitbit clockface (and not one of the other 3rd party clockfaces). If that doesn't help, then .... 😞

Yeah standard clock face.

Just received the update in the UK.

Flashed first time without issues, and actually seems to have made the watch more responsive (standard Fitbit watch face, and only standard apps installed).

Fingers crossed everyone else's niggles will be resolved quickly.

Fitbit Update: OS 3.0 has been pushed to 100% of users!

Great to see that many of you have been able to update without too much hassle!

@Melissa801512 @Zealouzone @Dougo13 @LadySag If you are experiencing any issues updating your Versa, I recommend checking out the tips detailed in our lead post. This should help you get back on track!

@Rolbej @JessMT @lenny4d @StephLMoyle @popo If anyone isn't seeing the Today app or is experiencing limited functionality after updating, please try the following:

  1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

@MrMarv @Stephen0118 @Onyx2 If you were experiencing any issues accessing the app gallery or updating your firmware, there was a known issue yesterday that has been resolved. You should be able to use these functions as normal.

@JazzDaChameleon I recommend performing a restart to see if that refreshed your Versa's system.

@Foreigners Sorry to hear about your experience. I have reached out to our support team to have a case created on your behalf. They will be in touch via email.

Our team is currently looking into water logging issues. A recommended workaround would be to simply force quit the Fitbit app, and make sure you are on the most recent version. Let me know if that works.

Got my update this afternoon as well, jumping straight from 32.10.15 to 32.33.1.30 without getting 32.12.19. Fingers crossed it's installing now 🙂

So I was trying to update over wifi as instructed. I thought the update worked but wasn't really paying attention. Afterwards I couldn't even see the clock faces or apps in the fitbit app.

So I tried again and noticed I was getting an x on the versa near the end of the update via wifi.

I did a factory reset, removed the device from my account and started the process gain but this time I didn't use wifi and instead updated via bluetooth. It took about 2 hours, very slow, but now everything is working as it should.

I'm wondering if the problem with this update isn't the firmware itself but the method of delivery.

My Versa will not connect to any Bluetooth device. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and when I go to add it , it will not connect or find tracker.
