Fitbit Update 1/10/19:

Hi all!

Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!

Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.

If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.

Thanks again and happy stepping! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 12/26:

Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.

We look forward to getting you all back on track!

Fitbit Update 12/22:

We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.

We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Hi, everyone!

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)

We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT'S CHANGED?

Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.

If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart the watch.
  2. "Remove" the watch from your account inside of the Fitbit app.
  3. "Forget" the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings (along with any other Fitbit devices paired to your phone)
  4. Try the update again.

*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:

1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)

2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Indeed, when you have battery issues, Versa is dead in 4 hrs.

Factory reset here, got to download the firmware once more. I did it over wifi this time. It failed the 1st time but was installed successfully the 2nd time. Checking closely battery life, I will let you know but I'm not very optimistic.

For those with battery issues, were you using a 3rd party clockface ?

I've tried a couple of different 3rd party clock faces and the standard clock face. My battery dies quickly regardless. I don't have all-day sync enabled. No music sync. No 3rd party apps. @AlessFitbit any ideas on the battery issues that some of us are experiencing after the latest firmware update?

Had the update successful on both my wife's and my Versa! No battery drain issues or any other issues!  Everything working great!  Love the new stats screen!

Same here. Updated in 20 minutes. Everything works like it did before for me. Guess I'm lucky.

One thing I noticed that was better for me at least was the stairs count. Before it was very iffy and now it works correctly on my 13 steps up to my first floor.

Battery life is the same 3.5 days, would go to 4 days but I charge it at 17%

It tracks my walks with the kids perfectly, steps seem pretty accurate and so does distance.

I'm using the 3rd part watch face "Finish Line"

Me and the other half both got the updates at the same time last night, she has a Charge 3 though.

All good for me, Thanks Fitbit.

I got the update on Friday and installed it when my battery % was at 25 and now when I put my watch in the charger to finish charging it would go to black screen showing it’s charging then exit and goes to my clock screen but shows battery icon and still charging and when I tap it to wake up it doesn’t go on to show the charging screen and when I double tap it shows the charging screen but then exits and goes to clock screen is that normal or is it not suppose to be doing that cuz I have never had that problem

@SunsetRunner Sorry if I wasn't clear before - it's still charging when it goes back to the clock face. You can tell because of the battery icon in the upper left corner. Or you can leave it for a few minutes and tap it again and see that it tells you it's charging, then does the same thing. I find it annoying, too, but it appears to be the new normal.

@lenny4d Seriously. Yes, this is everything I had to go through to get the update to even offer up.
Thanks, I was pointing out I was four Firmware updates behind and I had not been shown an update was available since I updated to 32.32.10.15. So that's a problem. Yah think.... LOL

Look I am glad it seems to be all peachy for you. Good on ya. But for everyone,  I have talked to and everyone I have seen who has this. They have all had similar issues. Like the sleep issue that you tried to assume what was actually wrong. When I say it doesn't track sleep. It's a Zero. No sleep. It says I have not slept for weeks. Interesting. because I have..... and yes I have changed the settings.
Steps..... it plain and simple does not track steps as it should. Matter of fact. Versa sucks balls at it. I put my old charge 2 on my other wrist and compared. MY GOD its not even close. How is that?
Yes, it is thousands of steps off in a day. It does not see it. Yes, I have checked the settings and yes I have checked the setup.

When I say it doesn't work. I actually mean it sucks at it and it does not work. Sleep nope... Steps not even close. HR is even different than the Charge. That's a problem. I supposedly bought an upgrade. Seems I didn't. So no I don't agree with what you are saying. It is not a great tracker cause it doesn't track. It's not even a great watch. Had a better one in the army. I had to wind that one daily.

@AlessFitbit I updated a few days ago and it's a HUGE improvement. I'm no longer getting 10+ floors from my 20 minute drive to work. I'm so much happier with this thing now.

I still have to test it out some more, but so far so good with the update!

I've updated my tracker and my Today app works, except it says I can choose up to 7 stats but it only gives me the options to choose 4 -"Core Stats", "hourly steps", "heart rate" and "cycle track".

I have the updated app, and did the update when it first rolled out on the 19th, my today app says that its updated and has version 33.1.20.c, my versa has also been on the charger since then. (Those are all part of the solutions that I have seen offered previously)

How do I get the options to add the new features?

@AlessFitbit

1 hr after unplugging it, I have already lost 20% of battery without even touching Versa...

Put my blaze back on for the night stats.

2 hrs later, Versa is at 55% of battery 😭

After installing the update, my Versa is no longer working. When trying to reset, the watch comes on with a blank black screen before vibrating and giving me what would normally be the Fitbit logo, but it's just light green lines (like a graphic error.) Did I just brick my watch because of the update???? Can't reset / turn on / off. Just keep getting the same garbled screen. #notamused.

I am from Malaysia, received the update last night. Installed with no issues. All the new Today stats shows up fine.

However today suddenly some of them went missing.

Example the heart rate stats only shows the current heart rate. The stats for time spent in each heart-rate zone, and cardio fitness score is missing.

Exercise stats are also missing despite being enabled in setting.

Tried restarting & resync but still same.

Any advice?
