Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Hi again @blue3c thanks for that feedback, yeah that doesn't sound too good 😞 Sounds something is seriously screwed in the sensor interface or something like that, if it is less than 45days you can get a new one from fitbit, otherwise normal warranty applies.
Although it may seem from the forums that at lot of ppl have a lot of problems and therefore the trackers suck, the reality is that most ppl have no issues whatsoever, they love their versa's and agree it is a great watch and activity tracker, and your observations are definitively not generic for the Versa. All but! But that doesn't help you, obviously.
Everyone should now have the ability to install OS3.0 firmware version .30 straight from the mobile app without any resets etc, it has been rolled out to 100% of users. Allthough I doubt it, it may magically restore the functionality that doesn't work properly for you. If it still doesn't, and your watch is not yet 45 days old, contact fitbit support asap.

I've been attempting to do a factory reset via buttons for the last 30 minutes.
I can restart the device and/or turn it off but it's refusing to do a factory reset.
Yay.

Update process went very smoothly this time. Nice to see a more detailed changeling for the new additions in OS 3.0.
The Today app is much better now, nice to see the addition of Water/Weight logging (was using third party apps for those). And for the first time in a while the Weather app seems to be working well.

I updated my Versa yesterday, but I am still not receiving text message notifications on my Versa. I am an iPhone user. My Versa is connected via Bluetooth, it syncs, I receive phone and calendar notifications. I have done all of the “reset” steps and nothing has fixed this issue. I am running iOS 12.1.2. Thank you.

Hello, I've the 3.0 update. Sometimes my device notification delay and sometimes I don't get notification, before the update it was working great. My device is S8+ android Oreo.
Another problem is that sometime the water logged on my versa won't sync with the mobile app. Steps, stairs, calories.. Etc are syncing fine except for water.

I updated last night and it looks like sleep tracking and some of the other today info isn’t syncing properly with the app. Anyone been able to figure out a fix that doesn’t involve a factory reset?

I don't see a way to log calories from the watch? I seen a few mention it is there but for some reason I can only add water or weight which is not important for me. For me it's very simple, calories in and calories out. I need to be able to log my calories from my watch and cannot find that one feature anywhere.

Update to my post:
I received the fitbit update. The update went through really well and now my Versa is functioning great! For the first time I feel like my Versa is stable and Im able to use it properly. Thanks Fitbit!

Hi AlessFitbit!
I would like to know if there are different hardware revisions of the Versa in the field? Otherwise it makes no sense what we can read here about looping and crashing of the build.
Cheers.

From what I can see, the watch still relies on using the phone app to add food, water, etc. The watch just displays the info in the Today app.

There is now an option on the watch to add water. But like others, the input is not transferring to the app for me. Why have an input option, if it's only for viewing?

Thank you, I do see we can add water and weight from the watch which is really silly to have the ability to add weight (since I own fitbit's scale and that syncs automatically!!!)
I think with the true concept of weight management that calories in and calories out that by default logging simple calories from the watch should be there (that is basically all I've ever been waiting for) everything else is automatically logging for me. =(
Seems I must be the only one on earth waiting for this simple feature and they add the functionality of adding weight from your watch!? Which is totally ridiculous if we have Fitbit's scale.

I agree. When I input water via the watch (Versa) it does NOT show up in the app. This can't be by design or esle it would be a useless feature

No, it will sync the water there is just a small delay but it does work great. I've been logging my water from my watch with no problem. It seems to have a small delay in sync every once in a while.

I love the new update! I'm so excited that I can finally log my water in the Today app! Right now when I log water, it gives me a checkmark and says successfully logged, but it won't add the amount onto my daily intake on my watch or in the app. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I'm glad it's working for you, but it hasn't yet for me. I got the update yesterday and have entered water in 3-4 times from the watch and it hasn't updated the app. My other stats like steps, etc. are syncing fine.

Hi, my versa won't update. It failed several times. I tried restarting the versa, unpairing the bluetooth, restarting the phone, uninstalling and installing the app, connecting to wifi, placing it close to the router...still nothing. Any suggestions? I've already wasted half of my day trying to update. I'm really disappointed. Any suggestions?

Apparently, that's not working for everyone. I haven't tried yet today, but yesterday, watch water input didn't make it to the app. No matter how long I waited.

All of my other stats work too, and I am able to input water but it doesn't actually log it to count toward my daily goal. I still have to use the app to enter my water to get it to go toward my goal.

@ZenD02 @UCGFM @Salcy @Susie2057 Hey, everyone! Thanks for reporting that you've all experienced a rapid battery drain after updating to this new firmware. We've escalated this issue to our developers and they're investigating. If I receive any updates, I'll make sure to let you know. Thanks for your help and cooperation!
@AlessFitbit A little more info on my battery issue.. I have disabled connected GPS and notifications. I only have 1 connected 3rd party app. I don't use all-day sync, always connected, keep-alive widget or reminders to move. I'm on Android 8.0, Galaxy S7 and v2.84 Fitbit app. I sure hope you are able to find a fix for this soon. I really like my Versa but the battery drain makes it really hard to use.
