Fitbit shows my resting heart rate each morning at 49-50 on average. At the same time, it shows the average during the night at something between 43 and 46.
But when I import the data to other apps that calculate RHR, like Google Fit, it is usually at around 45-46.
I've also seen this mentioned in reviews of Fitbit when comparing it to other devices, such as Garmin.
To add to the confusion, Fitbit is usually one point higher when viewing RHR in the browser on my desktop's dashboard than what it shows in the Fitbit app....
What is the reason for Fitbit's higher HRH estimate, based on identical data?

Is anyone from Fitbit going to comment on this?
My Fitbit RHR is 49 in the mobile app, 50 on the desktop Dashboard and then every other third party app which calculates Resting Heart Rate based on the same data, like Google Fit, shows it as 43-44.
What is the fuzzy logic behind Fitbit's number?

After over a year of hoping that Fitbit will fix all the Versa issues, I gave up. I moved on to a Garmin Venu and would never purchase another Fitbit product again.
The GPS connectivity never worked well and it doesn't work at all if you don't have internet coverage.
Heart rate tracking failed constantly (just going blank) when running harder and accuracy is suspicious at best.
Sleep tracking seems to have gotten worse with the latest firmware.
Resting Heart Rate is significantly higher than RHR on all other devices and specialized apps I've tried and Fitbit doesn't tell us how it calculates it. It seems like they are making it up.
The Oxigen sensor seems like a gimmick, which is why we are not getting useful data from it.
Customer service invariably blames the phone for connectivity issues, even though there are similar connectivity issues will both iPhones and Androids.
Instead of addressing the long-standing quality control issues of the products, the CEO is instead busy posting nonsensical political platitudes on the Fitbit site.
I can't believe Google bought this company!
Phew! Good riddance!

Just to close this: I have had the Garmin Venu for a few days now and all I can say is that I wish I had left Fitbit earlier.
GPS works better than the best day I've had with Fitbit.
Heart Rate is solid, no drops under high load like Fitbit.
Sleep is comparable, but I also get stuff like Movement, Respiration and Oxigen.
Resting Heart Rate is comparable with everyone else, while Fitbit was a total outlier.
Garmin has HRV algorithms which together with other parameters provide a rather useful Body Battery number which reflects overall state and fitness.
Much more detailed stats than Fitbit.
And yes! I get SpO2 measurements.
From my research, Fitbit's sensor is effectively useless in terms of accuracy, which is why we will never see its data exposed on existing devices. But instead of the CEO addressing it and telling us the truth, we get to read how he and Fitbit support BLM.
Well, I am done with all this BS, with this CEO, and with this Fitbit. Good riddance!
