Fitbit Versa 2 GPS

So I am 14 and I just ordered the Fitbit Versa 2, but the thing is that I don't have a phone of my own. I have access to my mom's though, so I understand that I will have to set it up through her phone, but I've already placed the order for it, and I just now saw that it doesn't have GPS. Does this mean that I would have to take her phone with me when I ran? All I want to be able to see is how many miles I've run. Would I have to bring her phone with me to be able to see my mileage?

If you want distance from GPS, yes you would have to take phone with you.  But if you don't have phone with you, it will estimate distance from the number of steps times your stride length.  That will not be precise but will be a decent approximation.

The Charge 4 tracker which has been announced but is not shipping yet, does have built-in GPS.  If that is critical to you, you might want to see if you can cancel the order, or return it right away for the Charge 4.  But the Versa 2 does have some other advantages over the Charge 4 though.

Also, with GPS, it should give you a map of your run, which you would not get without GPS.
