Fitbit Versa 2 Innacuate Distance

Hi Everyone.  Looking for advice.   Yesterday, I ran my first half marathon and I have been using my fitbit versa 2 while training and during my race.  On my watch, my pace seemed on par with my training but during my race yesterday, it looked like my distance being recorded on my watch was way off.  My watch said I ran 13.1 miles in 2:11 but based on the course, I finished in 2:32.  Did I do something wrong with my watch?  I'd love to race again and improve my time but I'm not sure if I need to do something about the watch. Thank you!

Sounds to me that your time was off, not your distance; only error you say was 2:11 instead of 2:32 for total time.  I would check workout log for starting and ending time to see if they match what should be.  Is it possible you accidentally ended it on watch 21  minutes early?

Thanks! I thought of that but when I crossed the start line, I hit the start button (I went into Exercise, run, and set my distance goal to 13.1 miles).   I stopped my watch when I crossed the finish line.  The timing lines up but not the distance.

Distance via connected-GPS carrying phone, or just by steps?

You know what, now that I think of it, I don't think I remember seeing the GPS connect to the watch.  I'll have to look into that.  Thanks!

See if you got a map.  If Not GPS, got distance from stride length times number of steps.  Stride length could easily be off that much.
