I’ve had my Fitbit Versa for about two months. Suddenly today I noticed that when laying on the couch (heart rate of 58bpm) it suddenly spikes (to 120–140bpm) without any movement or change in activity. Then it will go back to normal for a few minuets, when I check again, it’s back at it! I tried restarting, syncing, turning heart rate on and off again, tried turning it off and on, even tried switching wrists. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

@Kter5 Do you see these spikes recorded in the app? Perhaps you could share a screenshot?

When I look down at my Fitbit while sitting on the couch, laying down, etc it will go from a resting heart rate to fat burn heart rate. When I open the Fitbit app on my phone it shows the same thing as my Versa. It corrects itself after I sync and then it does the same thing a few minutes later

@Kter5 I understand. I think it would be helpful to actually see whole day recording. Occasional spikes are normal. I would like to see how often they occur and how long they last.

I don’t think you’re understanding. It’s not normal to have the rate read 58bpm and then 128–140bpm within 1 minute without any change of activity. Do you work for Fitbit? I appreciate your help but I don’t think you’re understand the technical issue I’m having. I did another restart and left the heart rate on off all night. When I turned it back on this morning it seems to be working correctly for now.

@Kter5 i do understand the issue you're having, but as I stated it's good to have a full set of data before jumping to conclusions. To answer your other question, no, I do not work for Fitbit. We're all doing our best here to help each other. I'm glad restart and toggling hr on/off resolved your problem.

Mine does it randomly too. I can watch it jump to 145 and then 100, 150, and back to normal. Fitbit says it's my my phone isn't on the compatibility list....Samsung note 10plus. Don't know what my phone has to do with my wrist, but ok. Side note: my job is software and hardware. The answer I got was rubbish, and the Fitbit is garbage according to my 20+ years of engineering. Ignore the huge random spikes, check your pulse manually, and enjoy the 200.00 "watch." 🙂
