Fitbit Versa Screen “disappearing”

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve been dealing with this on and off for two weeks and I believe my versa has finally given up. When it started I would get a message, and the screen lighting would slowly fade out. Or I would swipe to start an exercise, and it would fade again within seconds. Now, I can tell the backlight is on, but nothing displays on the screen. It still vibrates with messages, and tracks my steps/calories/etc and will sync. It seems to only be the screen that’s having issues. I’ve restarted it multiple times, and it would work that first couple of days. Now if I restart it, I can hardly tell if it’s coming back on.

@Adoles, due to the recent event, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Regarding the screen issues that your Fitbit Versa has experienced, I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Set up your watch from scratch

Finally, monitor your watch and see if the display works properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I wish I could do that, but at this point I don’t know what’s on my screen or what isn’t
