I just received mine last week after a hellish experience with delivery, which I rarely have I do shop online mostly and of course my fitbit went MIA in the mail but it was found and I have until the end of the week to send it back if I am to send it back and I'm conflicted.
Between sync problems, the extra steps while charging which can't be reset (last night my versa logged 11k steps while it charged and when I put it on my wrist, it congratulated me for my steps. Gah.) and the fact that apparently Fitbit refuses to answer the simple question of whether the Versa is water proof or not (the official answer as far as I know has been "No, it is swim proof, put it in rice for 24-48 hours after contact with water." Yes, that's silly nonsense.) I'm honestly not sure what I want to do.
On the one hand I love my Firbit when it's working properly but when it doesn't, it irritates me to no end.
For 2 days of the past week I couldn't get it to sync after it had been working perfectly. That meant none of the apps were working like notifications, weather, etc. I may as well have bought the HR Charge if I wanted something that is not water proof or to give me notifications, etc. right? Then after calling customer service and doing the same things I did before by myself, it magically started working again, so customer service is thankfully magical (props to them!). It feels like it's a crapshoot. When it works it's great when it doesn't it's a disaster.
What I want to know is, in your user opinion, can I expect this product's bugs to get worked out or is that never going to happen? If I keep my versa do you think I will need to become BFFs with customer service? I love new friends but I don't have an entire day a week to devote to talking to the nice folks at FitBit.

I guess I've been one of the lucky ones; I haven't had a problem with mine. The first thing I did when I got it was jump in the pool to test the seal. I luckily had a tight seal and swim with it at least 3 days a week. I'm starting to think it's just the luck of the draw. I do find the Charge 3 compelling and probably would have just picked that up if it had come out earlier. I really don't care so much about the smartwatch features, but I do love the weather app which the 3 is getting. I think the inductive button on the 3 will give fitbit a better success rate with water proofing. If I was in your shoes I'd exchange it. From what you've told us it sounds like you may just have a lemon and that happens sometimes, but you didn't pay for a lemon so I'd contact support.

I have had to replace mine twice since May. So yes if I could have returned it I would have.

my problem is that the steps and miles are not accurate and being a runner its very frustrating to buy a product that claims to be for that. I understand that it doesn't have built in gps so its not going to be exact all the time but mine is always saying connecting during a run and my run that i do i know the exact miles and steps and it is either way to low or way to high and its so frustrating! i just wish they would admit that it has a glitch and try to fix it! We love fitbit products or we wouldn't keep buying them but come on for 200 dollars we want a product that works! Oh and i am on my replacement one and it still isn't doing what it should do!

Ugh! Yeah, mine does the thing when you plug it in it gives you an extra 10-50k steps. Seriously. It also was not accurate during runs and well, I was tracking with Map My Run still on my phone so kind of annoying to have to do that but I was SO excited to swim with it but never did and I guess I never will.
Mine is on the way back after they finally told me it probably has faulty Bluetooth. My Versa was under 30 days old and they told me they'd likely replace it with a refurbished unit. I am not ok with that. I bought a brand new item, so I'd like a functional, brand new item. Anyway, since they were being unreasonable, in my opinion, and unwilling to reach out to the part of the business that determines what kind of replacement I'd get, I returned it altogether.
I'm sad. I really loved my Versa when it worked but the synchronization on mine was a complete crapshoot. It synched when it wanted but never when I needed it to. If you did anything to it that required re-connecting to the app, it did not work because the synch was so unreliable. It was the biggest pain of a product I've ever had. I'm completely disappointed with the Versa and FitBit and no, I'm probably not getting another Versa again. I want a Pixel 3, which comes out in October and Pixel 2 users are saying the synchronization with Pixel 2 does not work and it remains incompatible so it looks like they're just not taking care of their Versa users at all in my opinion.
