Had my Fitbit Versa lite for just over a week now and have had to visit the forum already for assistance with the screen flickering...
Whilst in the gym last night trying to select an an exercise my Fitbit just turned off and took forever to come back on after several attempts to force restart.
This new watch was an upgrade from my AltaHR which I loved and was undecided whether to switch.
Is this what’s to be expected from the Versa? Very disappointing.

No its not what is expected. Sounds like you got a faulty unit.
First of do a restart at least 3 times
If it does not help then:
I would take it back and exchange it where ever you got it. If here than contact support by using the Help link at the top of the forum
