I have just upgraded my Charge 2 to a Versa as I swim often. My usual swim is 2.5km freestyle over 45-50min in a 25 or 50m pool. I am able to change the lane lengths in the Swim Exercise App and when it records the data it seems accurate.
The problem I am having is that the Versa will drop out of the Exercise App during my swim & I will need to start the Exercise App again. I only swim freestyle so my stroke style does not change during the swim. I also notice I am recording something like 6500 steps when I swim ??
At my next swim, I am going to try putting the Versa on my other wrist to see if there is any difference.
I was also wondering turning off notifications will help.
Has anyone else had the same problem ?
Can anyone offer a solution ?

@Steve_Mellor As Versa is a wrist tracker, it will pick up steps when the hands move vigorously. You can try making your Versa less sensitive by changing the Wrist Placement setting in your Fitbit mobile app to Dominant. Re Exercising App, does it simply pause or just quit? Do you lose the recorded workout when it happens? I am wondering if it's the type of movement and water hitting Versa's display (hitting Finish button on the screen), or if it's something else.

Hi Marrrmaduke, thank you for your reply. I will try changing the wrist placement setting to Dominant - that is a good idea. The Exercising App quits but seems to keep the data up until it quits. You may be correct in the water hitting the Versa display or one of the buttons. I have been keeping a eye on the screen during my swim to see when it drops out but haven't been able to catch the event. I am going to experiment with putting the Versa on my right wrist next swim & see how that goes.

I am having this problem too. It seems to be when I tap the screen to see how many laps I’ve done. It doesn’t happen when I purposely tap the screen so it seems to be quite random. Do post if you find a solution!

Hi Caroline, I believe I may have solved the problem with my Versa dropping out of the Swim exercise app. I have turned notifications off when I exercise. Apart from one session that dropped out during the swim for some reason, the Versa has now recorded all of my swim (3x per week) & Weight sessions accurately since the Notifications change at the end of December. It has worked for both 25m & 50m length pools.
