Fitbit Versa water damage

Hi!

 

I need help please. I've had my versa for nearly 2 years and have never really exposed it to a lot of water until last night when i showered with it. The screen went blank and the logo apeared, this happened twice. I took it off, dried and left it for a few minutes. When i wanted to put it on, it was dead. Nothing happened, not even the backlight went on. Put it in the charger and it just got warm. I left the watch in rice now for 24 hours, without any luck. What do i stand to do in this case?

Pretty much identical thing happened to me yesterday.  I contacted a customer service agent, and they think that the device is dead.  I've had it for exactly 2 years and 1 week.  The standard warranty on the device is only 1 year - so they couldn't do anything for me except give me a promo code to buy a new one for 25% off.  

 

Seems like this is a pretty common issue with the Versa... so when I order a new one I'll make sure to never take it near the water!  Disappointing, because I've liked swimming with it in the past.  Oh well!
