My fitnit died so I charged it up fully. I came to use it the following day and i have to unlock with my phone which I can’t do because when I follow the fitbit instructions to find device lock it just starts ‘preparing’ and has been for the last 3 hrs. I’ve uninstalled the app and its now saying on my phone to enter the code from the fitbit itself. Plot twist, the fitbit is telling me to unlock it with the phone, which I cannot do because I need the code from the fitbit in the first place to reinstall. I’m beyond annoyed with this now. How can i override the fitbit to just unlock so i can reinstall?

Hi @_jo85_ welcome to the community.
You could try to perform a hardware (button push) factory reset.
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This will trigger the 2-button hardware restart after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, whilst continuing to hold the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely, the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

@_jo85_ you say that you uninstalled the app. Did you also remove the tracker from your Fitbit app?
If you did not remove the tracker from your Fitbit account, you can uninstall, install, and even change phones without the need to setup the tracker. And should still be able to unlock through the Fitbit app.
However if the tracker has been removed from the Fitbit app. Your only option is to follow @N8teGee advice and do a factory reset.
Once back up, please, please, please, set the pin for Fitbit pay only.

The only reason to have a pin lock is for Fitbit pay.
My only thought would be to try the hardware reset again. Or contact Fitbit. Contact.fitbit.com
