Fitbit not taking versa 2 tracked steps

My Versa 2 tracks my steps. I open up my Fitbit app after a short time, it shows previous tracked steps, syncs with Versa 2, and I lose all steps tracked. Example: versa tracked 6,568 steps, I open up Fitbit app, it shows 4,850 steps, it syncs with Versa, and when I check steps tracked on versa it shows as 4,850, losing those 1,718 steps. Why is this happening?

Also you can try to restart your device by following these steps.

That’s an interesting dilemma. What about the other stats like distance. heart rate, floors, etc? Do they stay correct on the watch and phone? 

 

What version of firmware is on the watch?
