Fitbit not working?

The screen on my Fitbit Versa 2 has gone blank. The app on my phone says it is still synced and has a full battery but I can see nothing. The little green light is still working on the back. How do I fix this or is it some sort of built in obselescence?

If you haven't already try turning your watch off and on. Push the button on the left side of your watch until you see the fitbit logo. Let go and it should turn back on. If it doesn't press and release the same button.

I am sorry...that is frustrating...try support maybe...have you moved your account to Google yet?

My account is a gmail account - isn't that Google?

I have a gmail email account but I have not moved my account to Google. Fitbit was purchased by Google and since then the fitbit product seems to have taken a back seat. From what I have read they have stopped selling the fitbit products in some countries, employees have been laid off and two fitbit head executives have left the company. I also understand that Google is trying to merge the fitbit products into their Pixel products. And it seems that those fitbit users who have moved to Google are having problems. I have not and my smart watch seems to be stable, I also have  a Versa 2. From what you wrote it does not seem that you have moved to google...you would know if you did. Have you tried changing your clockface...if you can?

No I tried to do that this morning but every clockface I picked it said it wasn't available

And just like that I am having trouble with my watch this morning. First I couldn't shut off my alarm by tapping the checkmark. I had to use the side button which did not turn it off because 10 minutes later the alarm went off again. Again I tapped the side button and it turned off. Now I cannot swipe left on my watch to get to the other apps..ie:weather and alarms. All was working fine last night. Very suspicious.

Mine has done the same....I have tried holding the left button to restart and all I can get is Alexa......uuuggghhhh!

No idea - I dont think they want people to otherwise they would be inundated with all these complaints!

Hello. Had the same issue and support helped.  
On the watch hold the button on the left until the logo comes on(as you had mentioned). 
Then on the Fitbit app- on the :sun:Today tab, on the top left, tap on the device :mobile_phone::mantelpiece_clock:. This will take you to the screen that says “connect to fit bit”. Tap on the Versa. Now scroll towards the bottom where in says “Sync Now” & tap on that. This should sync your watch and hopefully your watch functions will returns to normal 🤞

Yes, mine started malfunctioning today. It would not sync and the time was way off. Was fine last night, however, that is how all my fitbits worked, fine when I went to bed, toast in the morning. It's out of warranty, so they won't care about it, but helpfully suggest you purchase a new one, with or without a small discount. For it to sync now, I have to put it in the charging cradle. I moved my account over to google today, thinking maybe that was it. I avoided updates as that usually kills them. Did the usual list of stuff, but it looks like this one is soon to be past tense.

Mine wasn't working. You have to forget the device and reinstall everything and treat it as new again. I got mine working again after months of it not working. 

Unregister it and reregister it or something. It's been a while so I forgot exactly what they called it when they helped me through tech support.

That's crazy. Because Alexa is the one thing not working on mine now. And I can't figure out how to turn it back on because they switched up their layout and all their instructions and help is for the old layout. It doesn't have an Alexa setting under the profile pic anymore. 

 

But try forgetting the device and reregistering it. That worked for me.

Thank you for responding. I tried this and lost my screen altogether! I uninstalled the app and reinstalled reregistered my watch....no change...followed your directions again and no change...battery says full and I know that is wrong. Thank you though for sharing....hopefully others will read your response.

Did not include that when I reinstalled the app I did get my clock face back!

And later in the day I got my watch options back. I can now swipe left and get the weather and find my phone! Once I followed your directions and it didn't work I stopped trying......

Now that you mention it I had an issue with the date and time a couple of weeks ago but that seemed to resolve by itself. Maybe the screen not working is the next step to try and get you to buy a new one! (Just joking!)

Sorry that didn't work for me unfortunately. The app says mine is syncing and everything but I just cant see anything on the watch screen.
