So I looked at my sleep graph last night, and at two points in the night I 'dropped' below deep sleep, and it was recorded as black for about an hour? Side note, it registered as deep sleep but it's clearly below
What happened?

Hello @SunsetRunner and welcome to the Community. There is something very wacky with your sleep graph and it is more than just the black section. About one quarter of the way in the graph, it becomes completely offset. I see a yellow peak color that looks like it should be red (awake). Light and REM are dropped down to an in between spot, if you get what I am writing. If you log out of your mobile app, then log back in, does it fix your graph? If you delete the Fitbit app, then re-download it, does it fix the display? Do you use an Android or iPhone? A display issue is usually platform specific. I want you to look in one other place. You have a web dashboard at fitbit.com. You log in with your same email/password. You can see your sleep stages, but there is no sleep score. Is that one correct or is it off, too? If it is correct, then an app bug could be the problem.
Your post is the first one I've seen about this. If it is an app bug, then this post can get moved to a better fit forum.

I get ya, I hadn't noticed, I checked the dash board and that was wacky too, but in a different way, like parts or the REM had been shifted to the right so it didn't line up
Sleep score was on there, but I'd scrolled down (it looks normal)
I logged out the app and that's solved the problem- I'm on Android, though I'm not sure what caused the bug (I've been using the app now from around last September) and not seen anything like it
Logged out of the dash board online, but that hasn't fixed the bug for that, I'll have a look at tonight/ tomorrows to see if it keeps playing up
