Fitting replacement strap on Versa Special Edition

Having trouble fitting replacement strap(supplied with newly purchased Fitbit) which is the heavy plastic one has it seems to thick for the device. Currently using the thinning "fabric" one but thought l wanted a change. Can any one help with advice. Many thanks in advance.

I also found it difficult. BTW all Versa straps are interchangeable.
