My Versa GPS often disconnects during the exercise. It makes the wrong distance and speed. For example, my Versa shows the 15.46 km, 1:33:45 mins, 9.9 km/hr, but the Strava shows 35.03 km, 1:39:03 mins, 21.2 km/hr after Strava auto revert distance.
My phone is Asus Zenfone 4 (Android 8.0). If I track my exercise by Strava, not use Versa, the GPS is good, accurate distance and speed. I reset my Versa watch and reinstall Fitbit app. The Versa connection GPS problem is not solved.
I can't focus on exercise or analysis data because I have to worry about the Versa gps disconnection 😞
Fitbit Versa, 15.47 km, 9.9 km/hr
Strava, 35.03 km, 21.2 km/hr

@freddybigs10 After updating fitbit app, your way, Fix for Connected GPS and Bluetooth connection issue.. can't work for me. GPS still often lost during the exercise.
@danwms I also give up fitbit versa, but I can't return it to Fitbit. I am not in America.
I use heart rate chest strap and Strava app right now, and looking for next good exercise watch. I think the Fitbit Versa is not ready and like a joke 😞

It's great to see you around @SunsetRunner.
I appreciate the information and the attachments. Keep in ind that in order to have a successful connection between your watch and phone, it needs to be a compatible mobile device. When a phone isn't compatible, it doesn't mean that it won't work with your Fitbit but you might experience some connectivity issues.
You can always try the instructions provide in the help article Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?. but I don't guarantee it will work 100%.
Keep me posted.

My guess about this issue is that it depends on the actual Android version. Newer Androids don't let apps running when phone is not in your hand. On some phones one can turn on/off this feature for each app separately I have a Huawei,, where this setting can be found under Battery -> optimise in Settings. It would be nice if somebody could try it out because for me, connected GPS works well. Also, it is a good idea to enable the Fitbit app and service to run in the background.
On the other hand, it is really unfair for Fitbit to mention the supported phones' list, since it contains phones that were used in the previous millennium. Nobody uses Galaxy s3 today. Or, if they consider it serious, their potential customer base will be very small. The lifecycle of a smartphone is around 2 years nowadays, so it is not fair that the phones they support are mostly 3-4 years old models. Oneplus one? Funny, my grandma used it when she had her first dating with grandpa.

@SunsetRunner I'm glad it worked for you too. I myself haven't had anymore connection issues since then.
