My work involves driving and some days I will drive up to 600 miles. I do this pretty much 5 to 6 days a week. When I got my new Versa, I thought I could retire my Charge 2. The first day, April 20, I wore my new Versa and after a few hundred miles, I noticed my step count and floors were grossly exaggerated. by the end of the day, it was telling me I had 6136 steps and had climbed 107 floors! The second day, it clocked 7346 steps and 87 floors. Third day 9826 steps and 93 floors. That is when I went back to the Charge 2 and the server storm hit FitBit.
Based on past days with the Charge, none of these days should have gone over 2500 steps with zero floors climbed. On theses days I spent a majority of my time sitting at the steering wheel and definitely did not climb any floors. I can spend up to 11 hours driving and have a pretty good idea of what is normal for those kinds of work days.
My question to FitBit is are you planning on an update to address this issue with Versa? I know from looking through the forum that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem but not to the extent I am having. But, as I said, I'm behind the wheel for up to 11 hours a day. Most of the others have the problem going back and forth to work and are probably not driving more than an hour or two a day.
Based on my experience with the Charge 2 under the same conditions, I know it is not something that is peculiar to the general FitBit design.

I've climbed 4 floors today and it says 40... I hope Fitbit will fix this issue its a real deterrent.
I don't understand why Fitbit doesn't have a 'commute' mode.

@spicynachoo Did you do any driving, ride a bike (pedal or motorized) skateboard, etc during the day your Versa "gifted" you with 36 floors? Actually, I think maybe pushing a shopping cart around a parking lot might cause it to add steps and floors, but haven't tried that yet.

Can you tell which days I wore my Versa and was driving?

Same issue here. I've had my Versa for about 5 days now. Had a super lazy day at the beach today. Took my watch off for several hours; kept it in the car (cause tan lines, y'know! Lol) yet somehow I seem to have climbed 9 floors and scored 5,000+ steps. I just restarted it as I read in another thread that should help. Is there any way to back up the ghost steps/floors?

I have this same problem. I'm on my second Versa and it has the same issue as the first. It's hard to tell from the forums whether this problem is universal and maybe some people aren't noticing it, or whether this problem only exists on certain Versas. I wish they could fix it, because it makes my floor count totally useless and inflates my step count, as well.
