[Guide] Solving the dreaded application install loop

ANSWERED

The application install loop is usually caused by an interrupted clock face installation. The message "Some applications did not finish installing. Would you like to continue the installation?" is displayed. Tapping Continue or Later cause the Switching message to appear and time out before repeating the error message.

Try these methods to solve the issue before contacting Fitbit Support.

Method 1 - Soft Reset

  1. Press and hold the power button on your tracker for 10 seconds to reboot the device
  2. Force close the Fitbit app on your phone and reopen

Method 2 - Cache Clear

  1. Force close the Fitbit app on your phone
  2. On Android devices, press and hold the app icon, then press the Info icon to open the app details
  3. Tap Storage > Clear Cache > OK
  4. Reopen the Fitbit app and navigate to the Clock Faces screen

Method 3 - Repairing

  1. On the Fitbit app, tap your profile icon on the upper left corner
    Result: The Account screen opens
  2. Tap your device name
  3. Tap Unpair on the upper right corner of the device information screen
  4. Tap Unpair
  5. Restart your watch by holding the power button(s) for 10 seconds
  6. On the Fitbit app, open the Account screen
  7. Tap Set up a Device
  8. Go through the setup process
Note: you can skip WiFi setup and firmware installation until you confirm the loop is gone

Method 4 - Watch Face Reset

  1. Restart your Fitbit tracker by holding the power button(s) for 10 seconds
  2. On the tracker, find the Clocks app and open it
  3. Select a new clock face
  4. Reopen the Clocks app and reselect the clock face
  5. Repeat x2 for Harambe
  6. Restart the tracker
  7. On your phone, force close the Fitbit app, clear the cache (see Method 2), and open the Clock Faces screen

If all of this fails, you can try a factory reset (nuclear option). Failing that, contact support about an RMA.

Thanks for sharing. Got a little nervous and annoyed during Method 3 when the watch wouldn't even connect via Bluetooth, but in the ended method 4 somehow worked for me.

Any of the methods is not solvable for me. No proper response from Fitbit team too. I am not able to install any other app or clock faces for that matter.

This is really frustrating.

Thanks,

No method can solve this bug. I did a factory reset for my Versa 3 but still no luck,

Response from customer care is poor, saying that they are still working on this bug to fix it. this problem is still not resolved since 3 months. very annyoing.

None worked for me except factory reset.

But after that I still receive continuously this message in the app, but at least installing apps and clockfaces continues and works.
