HR readings during workout

I've noticed that during fairly high intensity workouts that the HR on my Versa 2 drops off for a few seconds at various stages. Itll come back but I was wondering is this happening others & if it's fairly normal given the build up of sweat effecting the sensors for example?

Also, does anyone know what data the tracker gives you for your HR during these drop offs - ie does it average your HR out for example?

Any ideas, suggestions or reassurances would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
