Headphones do not pair with Versa.

Hi,

Just got my FitBIt Versa and am setting it up.  I have:  successfully updated software; loaded a new App or two; paired with my phone; have set up Windows 10 App as well; and transferred an iTunes Playlist to my Versa.  I am, however, having difficulty pairing my SoundWhiz Turbo Bluetooth earbuds with my Versa.  Here's what I've done (several times, all to no avail):

  • On Versa, tapped Settings, Bluetooth connection Options, pair, tapped + Audio Device
  • On my earbuds, tapped of body, which powered it on; held button, until Versa showed earbuds name -- which I tapped.
  • The Versa then displayed a circular screen saying it was pairing with earbuds
  • After a bit, the earbuds announced that they were successfully paired
  • However, Versa continued to try to pair for several minutes -- never completing

Am I doing something incorrectly or does it take a very long time to complete pairing??  I checked in the earbuds instruction booklet, all it says is that if pairing doesn't succeed try again.

Help!!

@MarcoGFitbit,

First of all thank you for the warm welcome and answering my question!

To answer your question, I have paired my earbuds with my phone and my iPod previously without any problems.

After I sent my original note, I tried one more time.  This time, when my Versa displayed the earbuds name on the watch, I kept the button on the earbuds depressed (in the center of the right earbud), while I tapped on the earbuds name on the Versa's screen -- it took a little dexterity, BUT, voila, it worked.

So if anyone else runs into this challenge with earbuds with a center on/off pairing button (probably many brands), try it.

Hope that helps

Hello @RSnic, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums, for sharing your experience with us and for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far in hopes to resolve this issue. Tell me, have you paired your headphones with your phone before or with another mobile device before attempting to pair them with your Versa? If so, it's possible your headphones are pairing with your mobile device instead of your Versa. To check this, please turn off the Bluetooth on every device nearby, then try to set up your headphones again with the Fitbit Versa.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

This is my situation as well. I have turned off all other bluetooth devices except my headphones and still it fails. So frustrating.
