Hello Fitbit community!

I seen a lot of posts about when iPhones will be able to use the quick reply function on our fitbits. I know it’s just a added bonus and a luxury but I have found a situation where it’s more than a add on. I originally had a Apple Watch and I loved it except it died so fast! I could never track my sleep. So I switched to the versa, so far I love it!! I wish Fitbit would come out with better clock faces (3rd party clock faces have a lot of glitches so I only use fitbits) but other than that no problem. Last night when I was taking the trash out at my apartment a truck kept circling and stopping and it made me really nervous. I frantically looked at my watch and then remembered I have no way of communicating with someone! I left my phone inside and my roommates were inside as well but I had no way of telling them I didn’t feel safe. That being said I have debated on going back to Apple. I’d rather keep my versa and get the quick text feature but as a women i need the security of being able to communicate with others without my phone in a situation that I feel threatened. I usually carry pepper spray on my keys but I don’t take my keys with me to the dumpster. Just thought this was something to think about!

I do understand what you are saying, but even when you get quick replies you will still not be able to initiate a text to anyone. Only reply to one you receive with the preset replies.

I would add a couple of observations to what correctly stated by @NellyG:

- even if you might configure a quick reply to a message, such as "help" your phone would be needed to be in proximity (meaning practically with you) as the Fitbit Versa has no LTE capabilities

- as a developer of one clockface I would be interested to know what glitches are you experiencing so we can correct our development to better suit user experience and needs. Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out. I understand what you are saying and in this case I’m sure there would be a “help” auto selection for quick replies. In my situation I was probably close enough to my building to still have Bluetooth connection, but I do understand how that might now work in all situations. I wonder if we could develop a application that could notify emergency contacts. I’m not sure if it’s possible but that would be a great feature.

So the 3rd party clocks I notice the screen doesn’t always come on when raising my watch to check the time. The screen will also appear but it will be completely black, it looks like the watch face is loading. As a developer is there anyway I could send you what kind of things/widgets I would like and you can make me a clock face? I tried and it ended badly. 😞

I am not a developer (far from it - you at least tried with a clock face - I wouldnt even know where to start 🤣) but I know it is not possible to make an app or any other method of sending an emergency message as the watch has no stand alone internet capabiliy. Basically you need your phone within bluetooth range or the watch has no way to send messages out. But yes you could make one of you quick replies 'Help'. I changed mine to what I wanted them to say.

@Giampi71 which clock face is yours (if you are willing to say)?

@Ashleynicole229 That looks very strange, I never heard about these problems that do not look due to lack of development skills.

Regardless your need sure, why not? Send me a personal message either in he forum or via email and I'll see what I can do (although I want to advise you, I am a old man, with busy RL and who is learning how to code so don't expect miracles Cat Happy).

@Ashleynicole229 You can find my clockface GP Today at the following link
