I just got my Versa and I have many questions as it pertains to music.
1. Do I have to have the wireless dongle to transfer music from my computer (Mac) to my Versa or is there a way to load straight from a USB connection?
2. The version of the Fitbit Connect Desktop App does not give me an option to set up a Versa as a device. Can someone please point to the download link of the appropriate version of the Fitbit Connect App?

I am having the same problem !!! Furthermore, when I go to add music from my mac, it says "Device storage is full, can't transfer anymore playlists at the moment" but I don't have anything on there.....

I’m having the exact same issue!!! I downloaded the Fitbit connect app and I tried to set up my versa but it says that it’s only supported via mobile device setup. ????!!! What the heck?! One of the main reasons I bought this Fitbit was so I could have music on it. All the instructions I’ve come across tell me to set up my versa on my Mac. Well apparently versa isn’t supported on computer platforms?!

Device set up is done through the app from your mobile device. Once your Versa is updated then you can add music using the FitBit Connect app on your computer. Be aware that music transfer occurs only on a 2G wifi network. Connect your computer to a 2G network, connect your Versa to the same 2G network and for good measure, connect your phone too. I connected my Versa to the charger and plugged the cable into my computer which was plugged in at the same time. I had the most difficulty with the 2G wifi network since our home network system is goofy.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have tried all of those suggestions. My Mac, phone and versa are all connected on a 2.4 G network which has a relatively strong connection. I also tried connecting the charger to my laptop. When I use the fit bit connect app for Mac it says that the Fitbit versa can only be set up on a mobile device and not my Mac.... Maybe this is the issue???

I have done all of that but the issue is with setting up my device on my computer as well. I can’t access the Fitbit connect app at all unless I set up a new device or sync. And if I hit sync it prompts me to plug in a dongle. If I try to set up a new device I can login to my account but then it prompts me to pick a tracker but doesn’t give you the option of choosing versa. It says that versa is only available for mobile set up. I have already set it up on my phone.

Why are you trying to set up the device again. Instead choose "Manage My Music" and follow the instructions to synchronize your watch and the computer.

I don’t have any “manage my music” option.

I'm no computer expert but maybe you need to reinstall the FitBit Connect app on your computer now that the Versa is registered to your account. I'm on a Mac and I was using a Charge2 previously. I don't think that the music management was an option before but I see it now. Maybe the Connect app needs to update so that it knows you have a Versa with music as an option. No setup of the device on my Connect app was necessary for me.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Connect to FitBit app and syncing my account with my watch again but when I go to "manage my music" and then click on the playlist I would like downloaded, I am still getting "Device storage full, can't transfer any more playlists at the moment" but I don't have any music on it at all.... this is getting frustrating. Any other suggestions?

It's probably better to call customer support at this point Sounds like a bigger problem than we can address here.

Hi, I bought the fitbit a few days ago and have been having the same issues as discussed here. I have downloaded the FitBit Connect App onto the Mac in our house, having previously used my phone/ipad to do the setup. When I click the manage music on the app, it simply searches for the fitbit without ever finding it. The fitbit meanwhile seems to connect to the computer as the 'Use your computer to start transferring music' screen comes up. This stays for a few minutes before it gives up and returns to the original screen displayed when you first open the music app on the watch. I have been sat here for an hour repeatedly clicking the 'Transfer my Music' button every time it fails. They are connected to the same wifi, which is our home wifi and apparently a 2G or more. I can't turn the bluetooth off from the Mac as the mouse and keyboard would stop working.
SEND HELP PLEASE IM GETTING DESPERATE!!!!!

@runningmufin98 Can you confirm that your Versa is connected to your WiFi? You should see this screen in the Fitbit app. It needs to say "connected" by the 2.4 gHz band name. I have to go in and make the connection fresh to do it. Also, on my Versa in Settings>About, if you scroll down to WiFi you need to see the IP address listed there. Mine will initially say WiFi not connected until I refresh that connection in the Fitbit mobile app. Also, of course, it needs to be the same network as you computer is connected to. You say your WiFi is 2 or above. But, a WiFi connection band of 5 gHz won't connect. So, it needs to be the 2.4 gHz band of your network. Once you have all that open the Fitbit Connect app on your computer and you start the Music Transfer from the Versa. The computer will indicate it's looking for your watch. It should then (mine take about a minute or two) to actually find your Versa to allow the transfer. You'll want to have a playlist made of songs specifically for this transfer. Don't do song by song. Also, a place where people often get stuck is that you have to actually OWN the music you are transferring. Music that you downloaded through a streaming service for which you have a paid subscription is only "borrowed" not "owned". You paid for the rights to borrow the music as long as your subscription service is current. This is a music industry limitation and not something specific to Fitbit.

Same issue for me. Incredibly frustrating. After the first time I downloaded the app it showed the manage my music icon, but the app refuses to recognize the Versa. This issue has been noted in other threads on the internet. What is Fitbit doing to resolve this issue??

@Kritchie"but the app refuses to recognize the Versa. This issue has been noted in other threads on the internet. What is Fitbit doing to resolve this issue??" -- have you clicked on the transfer music button on the watch AND have the watch in the charger?? Otherwise it won't work.
@runningmufin98"When I click the manage music on the app, it simply searches for the fitbit without ever finding it." Same problem as above - you must put it in the charger too 🙂 I guess you found out by now.

Nope! It still hasn’t worked. I’ve done everything I thought I should, just as the instructions and people on the web have said. Still no luck. I gave up and just use my phone for music, which is a bit annoying

Hello! I've trying all the thing you said but nothing seems to be working. I just have one doubt, in the troubleshooting of the app it says than maybe the bluetooth is interfering with the recognition of the Versa, but when I turn off the bluetooth my Versa simply disconnect it self from the wifi, so it won't be recognizable either way...
