How do I switch between clock and apps?-Versa

When you are in one of the apps and want to get back to the clock face, what is the best way?  I can only get back using the left button.

That is also the only way I have found to return to the Clock from an Application.  From some screens, you can return with a swipe but not from an Application.

Hold the back and bottom button for a few seconds until fit bit logo appears.
