How do you sync the Versa 3 to your desktop?

I have Windows 10 and I downloaded the Fitbit Connect desktop app but that thing is absolute trash and doesn't even sync in the first place (the one star reviews were surprisingly generous).

Is there any other way?

I do not have a smart phone and I have no intention of buying one any time soon.

Thank you.

Hi there, @KHOC. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and the details provided in your post. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Regarding to your inquiry, please note you need a compatible Android phone, iPhone, or iPad to set up new Fitbit devices. You can’t set up or sync with Windows 10 devices.

For more information about supported devices and operating systems, please see www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/compatible-devices

Hope this helps!

The Fitbit is already set up; had to use my wife's phone for that.

You can't sync it to a desktop at ALL?!  Despite having a USB cord that connects into any computer combined with a dashboard feature on the website, you've had HOW many years and you haven't been able to program a connection? That's incredibly lame and limiting for your users.

BTW, just to get this straight:

  • Watchband that came with it was a dysfunctional design, sliced into one's wrist. Additional purchase of functional watchband required.
  • You can't change the time manually (that is seriously as asinine as a fridge that you can't remove food from)
  • You can't sync it to a desktop despite having hardware that literally connects into the desktop.

At least it reports the correct mileage, unlike the Versa 2 which had a 20 to 25% margin of error.  So I'll give you that.

But Fitbit... step it up a little.  No pun intended.

@KHOC   You can't set up a Versa 3 on a PC, but users say they can sync with the Fitbit App for Windows 10 available from the Microsoft Store.  Not Fitbit Connect.  This isn't optimal.  The Fitbit app for Windows 10 hasn't been updated since 2019.  Many of the features, such as your Health Metrics, aren't on the Windows 10 app.  It is very, very outdated.

It's a quirk that you can sync with Windows 10, not Fitbit's plan.  Although you don't own or want a smartphone, you can put the Android/iOS app on a wi-fi only tablet on your home network.  Just a thought to help you get the most from your Versa 3.

@KHOC   I just saw a new banner on the Windows 10 app forum.  It's an announcement saying that they are shutting down syncing ability on October 13.  You will need a compatible Android or Apple device for your Versa  3.  Sorry for the incorrect statement.

Sorry just seeing this now.  Thank you for the response, LZeeW.  It's a bummer since I use my desktop to review health parameters, weekly mileage, etc.

Interestingly enough, it synced yesterday morning just by being charged.  It seems to do that intermittingly - is that something I can do going forward and is there anything special that needs to be done for it to sync in this manner?

Thanks!

@KHOCYou need a compatible Android or iOS device to sync your Versa 3.  If you have a home network, you can use a wi-fi only tablet.  You don't need a smartphone.  When it comes to reviewing your data, you might find the larger tablet screen acceptable.  You have a web dashboard at fitbit.com.  You sign in with the same credentials, but sometimes different browsers have problems loading it.  You can review your basic data there.  It is also out of date, like the Windows 10 app.
