How does Versa track laps?

Does anyone use the Versa for tracking laps? I am finding that if I do kicking or breaststroke the Versa does not recognize the laps ... Could I be doing something wrong?

Hey @tbswimming, it's great to welcome you.

I think that the following articles might help you with your inquiry about how to register activities with your Versa:

@tbswimming I swim regularly with the Ionic (same OS). It cant track kickboard as you are not moveing your arms so it doesnt know you are doing anything. But mine tracks overarm and breast stroke equally well. Perhaps try stronger arm movements as it seems to be missing what you are doing at the moment. The other thought I have is with breast stroke you may not be making the lap ends clear enough. The teacker needs a definite change in movement pattern to know you have reached a lap end. I find a couple of seconds stop or a good strong push off do the trick equally well. As I have got betted at understanding my Ionic and working with it so it can recognise what I am doing, so its accuracy has improved (lap count is now excellent - it rarely misses one). As far as lap count goes the worstbthing you can do is make your turn so smoothly there is nothing for the tracker to recognise as a lap end.
