Incompatibility with Pixel 2

My versa does not allow me to control music or receive notifications, rendering it useless as a smartwatch. It's very disappointing that Fitbit does not support the latest flagship phone for one of the largest technology companies on the planet. Is there a timeline on when this will be supported or should I return this device?

Just got my versa yesterday and I was soo excited however it wont stay connected to my pixel 2 XL it connects and disconnects throughout the day so I don't know if I'll get notifications or not. After customer service made me go through all the steps I had already done I kept saying "when it's connected it works but it wont stay connected" they kept telling me it didn't have to be connected through bluetooth to get notifications which obviously isn't true. ?Finally was told that they haven't tested with the pixel 2 so it might be a compatibility issue! I'm sooo bummed I have to return my watch

I think it's Google. I have a work phone which is a iPhone 6 and connects absolutely no problem I just don't want to carry my iPhone when I'm not working.

My versa worked with my pixel until it died. I received my replacement Versa yesterday and cannot get it to connect.

I was connected. It worked well for a couple of weeks. Then it got glitchy.
I unpaired it more it seems like the phone won't recognize the watch. I've
had this phone for a year and my last Fitbit ionic while glitchy worked so
I'm not sure what the issue is. It connected immediately to my iPhone 6
which is a work phone and I choose not to carry it when I'm not working but
that's the only way I can sync my watch now.

I have been connected but now can't receive text messages. I changed
something in the phone from one of the answers I read to 1.6 something and
after several minutes of attempting to connect it did work and has been
working other than the text messages

I have an ionic so I'm not fully sure if yours has the ability but what I
did was delete the Fitbit from my phone, factory rest the watch and resync.
After reconnecting and updating I turned the "classic" Bluetooth on the
watch and everything started working.
