@green-queen this is definitely not normal. I will flag your post for Customer Support assistance, so they can advise here. What I would try is wearing Versa for shorter periods of time first. For example, taking it off for nights, and slowly extending time each week. Of course, I would let the arm heal first, so perhaps switching hands would be wise for now.

ETA: Is there a way you can verify it's the LED lights and not charging port itself?

Hi there !

I had the complete back of my watch covered in medical tape EXCEPT for the LED strip.I have ordered a watch cover that is silicone and is only open at the LED strip as I am allergic to nickel.  After the second mark occurred when I loosened the band, I also covered the LED Light strip with scotch tape. . But in the meantime, waiting to see if the scotch tape helps on the LED's and the arrival of the silicone cover .

Thanks for helping Marrmaduke ! Charging port is covered with medical tape so I know that is not the source.

@green-queen I see. That answers the question about the LED lights. This would point to extreme sensitivity. I would definitely change arms and start from short period of times, like a few hours a day. I wouldn't like you to get hurt again. ☹️

Hey @green-queen, thanks for posting that picture. Seems that you are kinda allergic to the LED lights on the back of the Versa, so let me give you a hand on this. I have escalated your case with our Support team so they can further assist you with this and give you a solution.

Thanks for your help @Marrrmaduke!

Hope this gets resolved! Let me know the outcome!

Fitbit Support was in contact with me. They have offered a refund BUT I was looking for a solution, not a refund: Smiley Sad

I have now covered the LED lights with scotch tape and so far,,,,no burns or blood blisters!!!

The HR monitor still seems to work ok.

Hopefully this is the solution for me.

Hey @green-queen , thanks for your reply and for sharing that tip. It might avoid the burns on your wrist, however, it won't read your heart rate as accurate as expected.

On the other hand, sounds great that Support offered you a refund. Please note that if you change your mind, you can let them know.

Have a great day!

@green-queen  If the sensor is covered it is reading the surface of the tape, not your heart rate. It can be tricked this way. So, you may get a recording of a very stable heart rate but it's entirely false. It seems your skin is extremely sensitive. I would be extremely cautious here. If I were you, I would accept a refund and try one of other Fitbit trackers. Perhaps not so strong LED will be more suitable for you. I think perhaps Alta HR? what do you think? Alternatively, you can try slowly extending time you wear your Versa, but again I would be cautious.
