Incorrect GPS distance calculation with Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Please explain: with an impact of 5885 steps, stride length of 84cm.

Distance calculation: 5885 x 0.84 = 4.94km.

This also has an affect on pace! Pace should be 7'11" instead of 8'33".

GPS connected to Fitbit. I run A LOT! Cannot afford to lose distance.

How can this be rectified. Fitbit, I need an answer as these stats get pulled into Strava!!

@christadebeer Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your GPS distance calculation with your Fitbit Versa. Since you are using your phone's GPS chip to detect the distance I suggest you clear the connection between them by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
