Hi, all!
I recently got a Fitbit versa 2, and today I did some walking/jogging on a treadmill for the first time with it. The first thing I noticed was its distance was way off. It said I went .88 when the treadmill clocked 1.00. second, when I looked at the exercise in the app it claimed I was going 3mph, when the slowest I ever went was 3.2, up to a jog of 5.5. All uphill, if that's relevant.
Any suggestions on how to get it more accurate in the future?

2 notes on treadmill:
1) Distance is calculated as number of steps times stride length. If you are holding hand rail with Fitbit wrist, steps might not get detected, lowering calculated distance Steps are detected from normal swinging of arms when walking. If wrist is held still, that won't work.
2) As noted above, stride length affects distance. Fitbit sets a default stride length but you might want to adjust that.
See:
How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?
If you think your step count was correct and don't want to measure stride length, you should get close if you multiply it by (1.00 / .88).
