I have set my own stride length in Advanced Setting to equal 33.4 inches and found that when using my Charge 2, the distance calculated was accurate. However, when tracking exercise with my new Versa in Treadmill mode, the total distance calculated implies an average stride length of 30.2 inches. This error is consistent for all exercise tracked without Connected GPS. Any ideas?
Best AnswerHello @Rich_Laue, the speed of the treadmill is the same. My issue is that the distance calculated by the Versa during a treadmill exercise is approx. 90% of the distance calculated by multiplying the step count by the stride length I added to my account. I have also compared the distance calculated by multiplying the step count by the stride length with the distance calculated by the treadmill and found them to be the same. My conclusion is that the Versa is either unable to do simple mathematics or is not using the manually entered stride length despite the Set Automatically option being disabled.
Best AnswerThe stride length entered manually in my account settings, i.e., the 33.4 inches mentioned in my first post.
Best AnswerThe distance shown on the treadmill is more accurate when I take the steps counted by my Versa and multiple this by the stride length I entered manually. I have continued to monitor and the average stride length implied by the step count and distance shown on my Versa and the Fitbit app is approx. 76cms. This compares to the manually entered stride length of 85cms. As previously mentioned the Set Automatically option is off.
Best AnswerDid Fitbit correctly count your steps while on the treadmill?
Have you taken the distance the treadmill reported and divided it by the steps Fitbit counted?
What was the results.
