Innacurate Readings

I've had issues with inaccurate readings on this Versa 2 off and on as long as I've had it. I ended up going to a cardiologist because the watch would show spikes in my heart rate (120bpm-150bpm) and sometimes they were sustained spikes, when in reality my pulse would be in the 70's or 80's. But lately, not only am I getting the spikes and they're lasting longer, Im also getting a false amount of steps. For example, this morning I woke up and sat on my couch for two hours and my watch said I had accumulated over 5k steps. I did turn the watch off and back on but the issue persisted. Maybe this ones a dud. Anyone else have the issue? Also NOT a fan of the new heart rate graph.

Google Fitbit versa 2 factory reset and try that.  Also, buy a good pulse oximeter for your finger and use that to verify readings.

Fitbits are definitely not great standalone tools if you have health concerns. My versa 2, for instance, takes a very long time to log changes in my heart rate. It is also completely unable to log an accurate heartrate when I do push-ups. I have a very minor heart block and have been trying to improve my cardio fitness since it was discovered. Because of the delay, I have overworked myself significantly to achieve cardio zone minutes. I also use an elliptical because of knee pain and find that it attempts to log steps even though I'm seated. The count varies wildly between sessions on the elliptical.

There is also a phenomenon called PVC's (Pre-Ventricular Contractions) that are usually harmless but can throw off fitness trackers. A cardiologist can find these with a Holter monitor test but is unlikely to perform one if your healthy and feeling well.

I hope this helps!
