Is Alexa available abroad?

Hi. I have been using Charge 2 and now am considering upgrading to Versa 2.

Since Alexa built-in is a major feature of Versa 2, I don't want to miss it out. But the problem is that I live in Korea, where Alexa is not available according to the product description.

My question is, does Alexa's availability depend on the language setting? Or does it depend on the device's geographical location?

Can I purchase Versa 2 from the US via Amazon and ship it to Korea, set the language to English, and use the Alexa feature in English?  Or would there be  any other ways to bypass the country limit of Alexa built-in feature?

Thanks!

Hi @Canisludens, welcome to the community.

There are ways to use Alexa in unsupported countries, in fact I've helped another user do just that. It involves changing the location on your Fitbit account and some other language settings. The user I helped was happy with the eventual set up, but that's not to say you will be. You should be aware that changing the location in your account/profile could have other undesired effects, so it's upto you whether you would wish to take the risk.

Hi @N8teGee

I'm highly interested. Would it be possible to share some HOW TO?

It is very disappointing when I cannot use all the features because I don't live in the right country...
