I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

It is ok to swim but I would not take it more than 5ish feet down. Water resistant 50m refers to in lab tests. If you move under the water it increases the pressure on the watch.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. ![]()
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that the Fitbit Versa can be worn in the lake, the pool or the ocean, still, it’s important to thoroughly dry your elastomer band and tracker and remove any debris from your device after wear in the water Take in consideration that non-elastomer accessories should not be worn in water. To minimize damage to your watch, avoid any direct contact of sunscreen or insect repellent sprays with your tracker or watch. Remove your tracker while applying these sprays.
I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences some of you have experienced while wearing your Versa while swimming. Thanks for your patience and understanding, I hope you have a great day.

Thx Marco
i just got my Versa. Have had a charge 2 for over a year and LOVED IT. but really wanted to swim as an excercise. You’ve given me the confidence to swim at last!!!! I’m old so no diving etc. Just in the pool and some laps. Promise to dry thouroughly afterwards. I just didn’t want to ruin it. Now I’m going for it!!!!!
thx again. Will let you know how it comes off!!!!.

Does this mean 50 meters in distance or depth in the water? I would like to use this while swimming laps, but 50 meters is not far at all when looking at distance.

Its depth, I do 1200m 3-4 times a week and the watch is fine.x

@MACFredMD, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for posting your question. As @Vicky3796 mentioned, 50mts means depth, not distance.
I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.

My brand new Christmas gift died the second I walked into my mothers pool...the guy at the help line was ADAMANT, that this was NOT a common problem & that he had NEVER heard of this happening before... after reading these comments, I now realise that he is full of it.
i can’t say I am overly impressed with the product as it was 30cm deep for 30seconds before complete death. Now I must wait 7-10 days for a replacement without any confidence that the new one will be any better or any guarantee that it will even be a new unit & not refurbished...add this to the 7 day wait to delete the watch from the user account initially created (used wrong Facebook account the first time) & you have a pretty bad user experience all round.
I would not recommend one to anyone.

I am very confused by this. Can you just answer the question we have about is it okay to wear it swimming? And for how long? Why on earth would they offer the swimming app if it’s only water “resistant” very misleading... I will be returning if I can’t use it for swimming my laps. And not purchasing the more expensive one. 50 meters is a lot. Does it mean you can swim with it for 50 meters or can it go as deep as 50 meters? So confusing.

Mine was ruined after the first underwater dunk. Fitbit was awesome and I had no problem getting replacement since the Versa hasn't even been out a year. I will not be going back into the pool with it!

My Versa has been great so far and I do take it off when going in the pool but I did take it in the once and it was fine so I think that maybe you just got a dud because everybody else’s was fine hope your new one is good but I think your comment might be a bit misleading to people buying it seeing as you must have gotten a broken Versa which is now being replaced

Yes. I too am on my second Versa. The first one that I had died in the shower, so as soon as I got my replacement, I showered with it and swam with it. It's been almost a year now and (knock on wood) it's been working just fine. I even wore it into the ocean this fall. I just recommend to everyone that you give it a dunk test as soon as you get one so that you don't pass the return period.
