I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

I got the Versa for Christmas and I've bathed and showered with it on and had absolutely no problems. That was one of the first features I had to try. Lol

Mine died as soon as I stepped into our pool as well. The screen flickered then the Fitbit logo appeared briefly and then nothing. I couldn't believe it! I hadn't even put my head under water yet! I have the long wait for a replacement watch now too. I'm going to be scared to wear the replacement watch in the water, but I think I'll do what another user suggested and submerge it in a glass of water as soon as I receive it to ensure the replacement is waterproof. I'll be peeved if it isn't!

NO. Both my mother and I got versas. The first time we used it swimming the next day it became non functional. DO NOT USE IT IN THE WATER. FITBIT IS LYING TO YOU.

About a weeks after receiving my Fitbit. I decided to take it into the pool and check out the swimming feature. Just as I brought my Versa into the water it shutdown and never turned back on. I dried it, put it in rice for 48hrs and tried to reboot it. Nothing worked. I am really disappointed with the outcome of my Fitbit Versa and would definitely not recommend it to family and friends.

Recently bought a Versa. I swim with a masters swim club 3 times a week. We dive from the edge from time to time. In total we average 6500 meters a week. Mixed strokes (fly back breast free). I have been swimming for a month now with it on my wrist and I also shower before and after the swims at the pool but try not to spray water directly on it intentionally. I just shower like I am not wearing it. I ignore that I have it on. While swimming or showering I do wear it snug. In terms of intensity? I'm no Michael Phelps but I swim a '1:10 (for 100 meter) free. I cruise about 1:30 per 100 meters. When we do sprints I am about 17 seconds per 25 meters. I am not babying this thing. But I understand I might be lucky that it is not ruined already.
Personally I do not play with the buttons while submerged. Not sure that can cause issues. I know my Timex swim watch had a disclaimer that said not to mess with the controls while under water. I do START and STOP my swim workout on the watch while still in the pool though.
Aside from some features I wished it had and a few accuracy issues for distance with different strokes, so far it has survived. Long term? Only time will tell but it is working same as since the day I bought it.
It it were to die, I will not assume it is water related. I will issue a warranty request.
Charles.

I am on vacation for the first time wearing my Versa and went swimming yesterday. Certainly I didn't go "50 meters." Today my Fitbit no longer works! The marketing makes you believe the Versa is waterproof. My experience is that it is NOT! Not happy at all!

I went swimming with it a couple of times and it did great. It detected the swimming activity and measured laps (not sure if accurately). I use a rubber band with it for swimming and it does just fine.

Sorry, should've been more specific. I use a regular rubber watch band not a metal or leather, this way nothing to worry about.

I would never trust Fitbit, I don't think they truly know their products - but I have been diving with my Versa. I took it on several dives (5+) max depth of 80ft, avg depth of 40-50ft for 60 min.

I would call customer service, tell them what happened and they will send you a replacement. I just received my 3rd replacement, not due to swimming, but first one would no longer swipe and second one just stopped updating to the app. They were fantastic..had me try numerous things then sent me a new one (minus bands, just the watch face).... Good luck!

My versa locked itself while charging and wouldn't unlock via reset pin method. Got a replacement today and now it wont load my card to wallet, which it did successfully with the last versa I replaced. From one problem to the next, getting slightly disheartened as I enjoyed using it for payments!
