Issue with Versa 2 Screen Waking On Wrist Movement

I just bought the Versa 2 a few days ago & got it all set up & running. I've got the latest firmware installed as well. I noticed that even though I have the screen set to auto wake, it doesn't always do it. There are times when no matter how many times I move my wrist to look at the watch the screen won't come on. I can move it forward & back 10x, up, down, etc etc & nothing. The only way the screen will come on is if I tap the button. This seems to happen randomly. For some reason the watch is not sensing wrist movement. I'm hoping this is an issue that can be updated in a firmware release as it's a little annoying. I came from a Gen 1 Huawei Android watch that had 0 issues turning the screen on when I turned my wrist to look at it, so I found this pretty disappointing out of a brand new watch.

I also can't pin point what causes the watch to actually do this randomly. I am testing the placement of the watch on the wrist to see if the slightest change fixes it.

Hi @quickstang79 , you do not have enabled the "always on display mode" , cause that disables the wrist movement option. If you did not have enabled the always display on mode, restart your Versa 2 by pressing and holding the button untill the Fitbit logo appears and release the button. Regards kuzibri

No, I don't have the "always on" display enabled. If that was enabled, then the display would have been always on anyway, not resulting in the issue of the screen being off.

I'll give the restart a try. If that doesn't fix it, there's another issue, which again i'm hoping resolves itself with a firmware update.

Hi @quickstang79 , mine does come on but noticed it has to be quite a precise movement. So you have to have your hand in front of you and turn your wrist towards your face (like you normally do when wanting to look at your watch). It won't always work if for instance your hand is on the side and you then twist the wrist. I guess it's something to do with it sensing more specific angle when you twist your hand. I suppose it's a good feature otherwise your watch would switch on endlessly when you don't really need it to.
