Issues with notifications and tracking exercise

Hi,

I've been using Fitbit for several years; the versa for just over one. I have 2 major issues I'd love to be solved as I've had enough. I've trawled this page and found several similar stories... Ive tried all the advice and still have the same problems. PLEASE Fitbit, provide us with some proper solutions!

1. When I run, after 1km, it stops tracking. I don't have auto sensing exercise switched on, I've tried turning the watch off and on, restarting the app, every possible Bluetooth reconnection, deleted and reinstalled the app... Usually, after the first km when I restart it, it tracks the rest of my run but today, it stopped tracking after every km. I'm fed up! It seems to happen in fits and spurts but at the moment, it's happening every run (or several times a week).

2. Just recently, I too have the issue of notifications switching off. It says I need to restart my phone but that never works. The only way I can fix it is to delete and reinstall the app. It's currently happening EVERY day. I have the latest version of the app, I have notifications switched on, I have the vibrate even when on DND, I have notifications switched on in the back end of my phone under app settings, special app access... I have literally tried every suggestion that I can find on this website and I'd like Fitbit to fix these very common issues.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Ta_Bu . I am sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you for being a Fitbit customer! I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your Fitbit Versa. I appreciate your feedback, our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.

Thank you for reporting the issue with tracking your run. I understand that you're using the Exercise app on your watch to track it. Do you use GPS? Have you tried to track your run automatically via SmartTrack? In this case, I recommend confirming your exercise recognition settings: How do I automatically track activity with my Fitbit device?

If you would like to manually log your exercise, please follow these steps: How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Regarding the issue with notifications, I understand that you've confirmed already the steps to set up notifications and the troubleshooting steps. Could you provide the model of your phone for me to investigate further?

Please keep me posted.

Thanks for your reply.

I have found auto-recognition of exercise worse in the accuracy of tracking
so I switched that off early on in my ownership of the Fitbit.

I'm not interested in manually logging my fitness in... And I do know how
to do it. That defeats the purpose of having a good tracking watch if I
have to manually log it. I may as well go back to a cheap stopwatch or use
a different run tracker. When I bought the Fitbit it was with a view to
combine my tracking and receive notifications from my phone (calls and
messages) - neither of which my Fitbit is doing effectively right now.

I'm still having the issue of every 2 days or so a notification pops up
inside the app under notifications that I need to restart my phone to
reactivate being able to receive notifications on the watch but this
doesn't fix the problem. I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it
everytime. I have followed EVERY suggestion I have found on this fitbit
community website regarding troubleshooting both issues. Both issues seem
very common regardless of country of use or phone type.

I use a OnePlus 5T.

Thank you
