Issues with running distance sync

Hi there!

 

I have the Versa non-lite edition and love the product! I am training for a 10 mile race and typically run around 10-18 miles per week wearing my Fitbit to track pace, heart rate and distance.

 

I am having reoccurring issues with the distance tracking. 

 

Often, the exercise run app will not sync with my phone and therefore the distance does not update at all. This also means that my pacing estimate is often incorrect. 

 

I  wam running with  my phone nearby in an armband, and outdoor (not on a treadmill). I have tried restarting my fit bit but this did not work. I have also checked that my Bluetooth is on and the Versa is synced but this did not fix it. 

 

Any ideas?

@JanaBerker Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Sorry for the delay in my reply. 

 

Let me help you with your distance recording and syncing issues and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Which phone are you using? Is it compatible? Let's start by refreshing the link between your phone and your Versa by doing the following:

 

 

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here and follow these instructions for GPS.

Hello!

 

i was able to fix this by doing a sync on the app and refreshing the data right before the run.

 

all fixed!
