Has anybody found any way to measure your kayaking? I've really gotten into kayaking but can't find any way to measure it, and can't find where to log it in manually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you manually log it, the app will no longer use your heart rate data to work out your calories burned and active minutes, but use population averages instead. Probably the easiest thing to do is to use the exercise app and 'workout' and then change the name of the workout to kayaking in the app afterwards. In the app tap the exercise tile (running man) then tap the workout you want to rename and you should be able to change it to kayaking.

I found a previous reply to a similar question (and my question) - Create a custom activity, google the calorie calculation (I am 125 pounds so apparently average calorie burn for me is 150 calories / 30 minutes) - log one activity giving the amount of time and your calorie burn for that amount of time based on your research. Apparently you only need to go through this process one time, the next time you log a kayaking (or other custom activity) it should input the same calorie burn rate.
It wasn't hard to do, and now I'm going to input another kayaking session with a different amount of time to see if it works as expected.
I'm also thinking I can call one custom activity "kayaking - moderate" and one "kayaking - intense" with different calorie rates.

Log it as outdoor hike or walk. This way it uses gps. When it syncs you have. I have mine synced to Strava and when you change the activity to kayak it populates your map.

Little more info mate, I had my fitbit and Strava synced. My activities transfer from strava to fitbit but not the other way, does your's?
Change the activity to Kayak, assume you are renaming the activity in fitbit? How do you get it to Strava from there?
